Hyalophora euryalus - Ceanothus Silk Moth 2.jpg

This is not an Alberta species, although it does occur in B.C. a short distance across the border from Alberta. This was a specimen raised from eggs collected near Fernie B.C. There is a potential for this moth to occur in Alberta in the Crowsnest Pass/Waterton area, and for this reason I decided to include it. This species is very similar to Hyalophora columbia gloveri, Glover's Silk, and it takes a trained eye to differentiate the two species.

Hello Terry, I found this exact moth in my uncle's barn in Iron River, Alberta (about 20 min from Bonnyville) I see that it is not an Alberta species? I have the moth, it was dead in the barn so we put it in a jar and brought it home. I knew that if I checked your photos I could find it here. Do you know how this one got here?
Please write me back if you can, or if you are interested in having it.
