5th May 2006 - Jupiter rules my world

I have been waiting for Jupiter to align with Mars or whatever it’s been about this week. It’s supposedly meant me (fiery Leo) having a good time of it and with a new bit of the Grand Plan in place tonight I believe it to be true.

Tonight then, we push out the boat and walk round the hillside to the pub for a celebratory supper. It’s a nice walk…..well, actually, I defy anyone to suggest there is a more beautiful stroll to the pub than this. It’s about 45 minutes of quite hard walking but that’s good.

The pub landlady looks out for us veggies and has a delicious special for us. The dogs love the walk. They love the pub and they love the walk home. Actually so do we. We all feel as if we’ve achieved something – an hour and a half of walking to walk off the food and beer.

Specifically though, the sights we see are just phenomenal – imagine walking from your house to a pub in Camden or in Slough – sorry but to be honest, they just don’t cut the mustard compared to this walk. And do you know what? Now this bit of the Grand Plan is in place, we can do this every Friday if we feel like it. I’ll bet the dogs do!!!!

We left the pub at sunset (according to the legendary Beeb’s website) and got home when it was quite dark….but what a walk. It had a magnificent sunset, lots of ‘ickle lambos’, ancient buildings and best of all almost no sign of modern life. We saw wabbits, crows and at the end of the walk, were buzzed by bats as we crossed the cattlegrid to get home.

I am not sure if it is possible to enjoy an evening more than this……I’ll bet few folks have had such a great time tonight.

Last year, well, I was aching and for all the same reasons as we've been struggling this year - so little changes!!!

Cindy, I second that, hooray for pubs that allow dogs.

It sounds like a heavenly time. It is so nice that you can take the dogs along to the pub.
