Every boy needs a dog growing up and Kaia was my step-son, Zac's dog. He blessed our family for just over three years. I brought him home for Zac right before I married his mom.
(Trying to earn some step-dad points!). Kaia bit Zac's younger brother Jared the first night we had him and I thought for sure he'd never last. But he grew in all of our hearts.
Today we had to say goodbye to Kaia after a back injury left him in pain and paralized in his back half. He was, as my lovely wife said often "a funky little creature". We'll miss him, a lot.
