actually no sharpening at all in post process, straight out of the camera. This has been cropped, converted black & white, then I used the "airbrush" tool using a light blue, black & aqua color and a very low application of paint / less "coverage" to give it a grained look..... I can post the original if you'd like to see it. Thanks Dunc - Iam3D
Thanks Dennis, I didn't know about the speckled iris either, but I'm always taking a gamble for what I like and going against the grain....I'm glad you liked it. I also had the same reservations about the bridge of the nose / nose, I cropped many different ways and even shifted over to the right side of the pic to remove my nose, but nothing seemed to tie it together at the left, so I kept the nose hoping that enough "curve" was perceived on the nose..... it may be some of the scar tissue that also make it a touch OOF near my forehead lol - Iam3D
A super sharp photo. I especially like the speckled colours of the iris. The only thing I find distracting is that 1/4 of the canvas is occupied by the curveless and slightly OOF nose. I know that's necessary to get the curves of the eyeglass bridge. But it still takes away from what's otherwise a perfect shot.
