As to the color of the incense. I thought about reshooting it using red incense as I thought the tan was a bit drab.

Wow, very nice. The smoke and hanging ash are wonderful details. I agree with Bob on cropping some of the left side out(rule of thirds). Otherwise, extremely well done!
The blue smoke looks really great. I would have shot this in a portrait mode, though. The hanging ash is a nice detail and I like the colour of the incense also.

Nice texture on the incense and I like the hanging ash. The color is soothing as befits the subject.
I think I might try cropping about 90% of the background to the left of the ash. As is, I think the incense is too centered and the wide framing seems at odds with the subject.
