Coral trees flower after their leaves have fallen to the ground, making for a striking splash of color at the end of each leafless grey branch. If you ever see a coral tree in flower, watch for hummingbirds, as hummers are well-adapted and accustomed to taking nectar at these tubular scarlet beakons in the landscape.
