The weather appeared threatening and we were told at the ranger station to expect thunder storms and possible flash flooding. We proceeded down the HITR road to within about 5 miles of the end where it just started to get interesting, driving wise. We decided we didn't want to get caught at the end of the road by storms so we picked 3:30 PM as our turn around time. This picture shows us at that point, about 3 miles from the end of the road. I decided it would take about another hour to go to the end and back to this point and I didn't want to drive back to near the entrance in the dark. Oh well, there's always next time.
