There are no developed campgrounds along HITR but dispersed camping is allowed in most areas. We picked a spot that had been used before just off Cedar Wash Road. To reach the camp, we had to cross a gully and ascend a steep 5 ft embankment. I spent the night worrying we would get a downpour and be cut off from the main road. As it turned out, it rained only a little bit about 5:00 AM - just enough to get the tent wet. I wanted to stay longer and do some of the many hikes along the road but the weather wasn't cooperating so we broke camp and headed for Boulder, UT and the Burr Trail.
