Excellent shot. The kid's expression is great. Every child tries to look tough, especially behind the wheel of a machine. I think what he is saying is that the kid is being a kid. He is in his own worldly element of imigination and a world or pretend. He is pretending he is tough and has grit. The X on the cheek adds to it. Set a western kid behing a big wheel and he will have the same expression. He or she will probably have the same grime on their cheek. Kid's will be kids no matter where they live and what area of the world they live in.

I am sitting back enjoying this image because to me it does not mean a hard life or a long life but it means life itself or the start of life, long or not. It is life.

A portrait rich in incongruity and human values. The young boy seems tough yet also vulnerable.

A top quality picture my friend. Small as he is, he still seems to be a tough guy. Even his body language breathes 'no fear'. You couldn't make a kid do this for a photo session.
