Founded a haberdashery (I've waited 40 years to use that word) in Buffalo in 1893. He was very successful, successful enough to build the Kleinhans Music Hall for the people of the City of Buffalo.

Mr. Kleinhans died in 1934, the chain of Kleinhans Stores closed in 1993.
