7th December 2005 - wabbit heaven

I’m back with Liz and David tonight and in wabbit heaven. Maisie (left) and Pippin (right) are squirrels….apparently that’s a derivative of a chinchilla (wabbit not chinchilla if you get my drift) though Liz thinks they are rex throwbacks!

I know that won’t mean a thing to anyone who is not a wabbit lover but bear in mind Liz and I are both wabbit obsessed and she blames me for hers! Last time I was here, I was leaning out of the bedroom window late at night and Liz was outside fondling these two. I caught her out and she looked up at me with a slightly sheepish look on her face and said ‘it’s all your fault’.

The reason? Wabbits make great ‘dog replacements’ for adults who’d find a dog a bit too difficult to look after but don’t want an evil cat. I managed to persuade Liz of this about ten years ago so after pining for a dog for a year or so and being unable to persuade David that they should really get a dog, she opted for a couple of wabbits.

It’s hard to imagine but I think she’s more than pleased with the advice and loves those bunnies like children. She once bought me a subscription to a magazine called ‘fur and feather’ for my birthday – a scintillating read about all things wabbity and hen-like. She ‘confessed’ to me that she is still a subscriber last time I was here…..no comment!!!!

Both Ben and Jerry (strangely both girls) have since died and been replaced by these two beauties.

I have had the privilege of a cuddle from both and I now have a hairy chest and the delicious smell of wabbit…..I can’t wait to see Archie tomorrow night to see what he makes of the smells of two new wabbits…..in fact, it’d be good to see what my poor lonely male bunny makes of them too.

Last year's pic was as boring as hell....and the year before, DM and I were walking and photographing mushrooms.

Not all cats are evil! LOL, I know you know. I've had some very sweet doglike cats.
It's hard to beat the feel of a live rabbit's fur and these two look very strokable. Nice warm lighting, Linda.
