F4-Toll Bridge Rd.jpg

Bell County, Texas

An iron bridge in Bell County, Texas, Southeast of Belton. It is a Whipple Through Truss design and built in 1889 by The Penn Bridge Company, of Beaver Falls, Penn. It measures 194 feet and spans the Lampassas River. A very ornate bridge with many decorative features, it is nicely maintained and still in use today

Wow, I didn't know that, I just found a link to the local paper story, http://www.temple-telegram.com/story/2006/02/05/28621 I will have to go back up there and see what is left, if any by now

The "F4-Toll Bridge Road" bridge was damaged by a truck early Saturday Feb. 6 2006 and collapsed a short time later.
