"For as children tremble and fear everything in the blind darkness,
so we in the light sometimes fear what is no more to be feared
than the things children in the dark hold in terror and imagine will come true."
~ Titus Lucretius Carus

We fear the cage,
Of being trapped,
Within walls,
Invisible, intangible,
Most often beneath our skin,
Without choices
When, indeed, it is the bones
Those finite places where we may attach
The very strength of our muscles
The will, the empowerment to move
Forward with our lives,
To reach beyond our darkness and doubt.
