Tonight I’m half happy and half scared!
I’m still enjoying Ginny’s hospitality and loving every moment of it and I’ve also been out to supper with my old friends Ann and Dave. Ann is a fabulous cook and I've had a fantastic meal.
They’re brilliant friends – the sort that you don’t have to see for ages yet you can pick up exactly where you left off as though you only saw them yesterday.
Weirdly, I’ve not seen either of them for ages and Ann phoned me while I was at footie a couple of weeks ago and invited me to supper tonight. I readily accepted her offer knowing that it’d be a great evening. Dave is a joy to know especially as I don’t often like the partners of my friends and he’s a total exception to the rule – in fact, I’ve been known to spend an evening with him without her. That’s very rare indeed for my friends. Then, I bumped into her yesterday and into Dave today. How strange is that?
The reason for me saying it’s been scary is this gadget. It’s one of those air freshener thingies. It must be battery operated because it’s puffing out ‘clean’ air every few minutes with no visible means of support.
Last night, as I was sitting here watching the TV, I heard this sigh, with a scraping sound like a chair being pushed back on a wood floor. After having the heebee-geebies about there being someone in the house, I realised it was this gadget. Phew! I wasn’t about to be murdered in my bed, it was just a sweet smelling thing – thank goodness.
Tonight I am prepared for it and have photographed it in my enthusiasm for making sure all was well.
Last year, I was grateful to get flowers from my friend in San Fran after a little op and the year before, Arch was with wiggly giggly.
