Worried 10_21_05.jpg

No art here today. With Wes, Brandy, Ryan, Mindi, Jeff and the grandsons all in the Cancun area we're watching the news. Brandy made quick call yesterday to tell us they were being evacuated inland. Wanda said she could tell that Brandy was pretty worried.

We're sure they are safe and likely only having the experience they will remember and talk about for a life time. I'm sure Wes will have some great and interesting photos when they make it back.

So we're just being worried parents for the next few days until we here from the kids again.

Yes every one is home and safe...and we feel so very fortunate as many people are still stuck in Mexico. I feel even worse for the people that live and work in the Cancun area that lost about everything.

Hopefully by now you will have heard from them.

Our prayers are with all of you. Three of our kids lost from everything to most of their things in Rita, just a month ago. Thankfully, no lives were lost.

You're right about an experience of a lifetime

Prayers are with you, I went through the same thing with my son and Hurricane Rita.
Jeff lives in Pasadena Texas, (between Galveston and Houston).
It was one of the worst weeks I can remember, than Rita made that turn
into Louisiana instead.

So glad to here they are all safe, hopefully where they are is nice enough that they won't mind being stranded for a little while.

That is worrisome. My thoughts are with them and you guys.

Bill & Wanda," We hide from the wind and run from the water" The area is use to high winds and they are out of danger of tidal surge, they should be fine. We are here is SW Florida (Ft Myers/Cape Coral) waiting for Wilma. Hopefully for us the storm will stay in Naples/Marco Island area and we will be sparred storm surge. I live on a canal and lake at 8' above sea level. Sanibel & Ft Myers Beach are under evacuation.

Heavens, Wanda and Bill!!! Glad they got off the coast at Cancun. It's things/times like this that make you realize what's truly important in life, doesn't it? Scary chit like this always brings on a reality check.

And Bill....you cute ole nekkid thang!...Mwah. Was a great photo!

I finally heard from Brandy again! They are safe in a hotel somewhere in Marida. However, for now, they are stranded because the airports are closed. So I guess they wont be catching their flight out of Cancun on Saturday! I already called everyone's employer's and let them know they better find someone else to cover shifts for the next few days.

Our thoughts are with you guys. Great with the shadow of Wanda in the pic and a big change from the "block" of yesterday. I too had to change travel plans for a meeting scheduled in S FL next week--now going west to New Mexico.

merida should be fine, there is a great cathedral in merida perhaps wes will get some shots when this all passes and all are safe
Wm. Bates21-Oct-2005 16:26
We just had word (a post on another forum by another person staying at the same hotel...isn't the Internet great) that they were evacuated to Merida on the other side of the Yucatan Peninsula. All should be well. They will just have a tough time getting home when planned.

But our thoughts are still with all those in the path of this storm.

My heart rushes out to you.

For me, "Art" is defined as that which gives an emotional response, and this image & text brought me to tears this morning. Yes Bill & Wanda, this is Art, of the highest order.

All My Prayers,
-Steve
