Shadow of a playmate (*)

Nebraska

This is a bittersweet photo for me. The shadow of my chihuahua being lightly touched on by Georgie, who's looking at the camera, has a terminal heart problem and probably won't be with us much longer. These two are best friends and play and love each other hard! While I was trying to "pose" the chihuahua for a shadow, Georgie had to step in and touch it. This picture will be nice to have when Skeeter has passed on.

Britt, this is a touching story to go with an equally touching photo. Sometimes animals have an intelligence that escapes us mere humans.

Rod, Thanks ~ You got my meaning exactly of the title, the eyes, the shot ; EVERYTHING. I am fully satisfied with everything that happened. I am glad I found this challenge, all of you, and especially that little moment yesterday when my sick pup was sitting so sweetly for her pose, tired of my bullsh*t, wanting to take her morning nap, and her big sister Georgie who must have known that her sick little sister was tired and scooched her body along the floor into the frame and lightly touched her paws onto the shadow of Skeeter. She looked lovingly into my eyes as to say, "Okay Mommy, she's tired, here's your picture, let her sleep."

This does work well for this challenge but the other shot that was off topic will be very valuable to you in the years to come. & the shot was really good too. This shot along with your description has a deeper meaning sort of. As though Skeeter has gone & the shadow is like the memory you will have when he has gone. Geez I normally don't get into deep & meaningful when viewing picys, I either like them or not. But this shot struck a chord. Well done Britt.

Nice capture. Sad story. I'm a dog lover too.

Britt - this is so heart warming! The dog touching the silhouette is more than perfect. Perfectly on topic - just a great shot to go with your story. jano
