Admittedly this is not the most technically executed or aethestically pleasing photograph. But it was fun to make the cormorant's "portrait" when I saw the avian heading toward me, low over the water at Oxbow Bend, in Grand Teton National Park. I barely had time to raise my camera to my eye, try to follow the flight of the big bird, and press the shutter release. In fact, the cormorant flew a bit too low as it didn't quite fit into the frame of the photograph. Still, it's nice to know my reflexes are at least somewhat functionable.
