My friend was wearing these gold, leaf earrings when she came to visit (honestly... -- they're so not me...).

They are each actually made from a real leaf: hand-picked, then treated with a wash to make them filigree;
brushed with a layer of metallic copper; and, finally, electroplated with gold....
