Ha ha, that adds more character to the picture. It seems I'm the only one who likes this photo a lot.

Side note, and looking at it again it reminds me of some Bad Company song(s)... the 70's again, wink.

No need to mess around with it Techo - it'd be no biggie for me to perfect the symmetry by simply splitting the image and mirroring it. I would leave the scene in the window intact. I don't think it's such a big deal that it's not perfectly symmetrical. I wasn't going for a gimmick when I took the shot, I was just taking it b/c it called to me. It was the first I got to actually enjoy the horrible redecorating they had just done to the building. The lobby isn't so bad - the furniture is fine. But EWWWWW the wallpaper and carpeting are hideous! They both look like something out of your 90 year old aunt's house from when you were a kid. The paper is gold striped... and the carpet? Get this... it looks like chickens ran amok thru doggie diahreah and tracked it all over a faded brownish/greyish/taupe-ish rug!!! So, all in all, it looks like a filthy chicken cage!!! Now you kno wwhy this image is NOT in color! LOL!

Thanks for all the great feedback. :) ~ Lonnit

This has always been a favorite of mine. And yes , there was mention of the symmetry ;) Anyhoo, the tone and feel of this photo is very appealing to me. My favorite part of this photo has always been that couch in the middle with the window behind it as the source of natual light and the nice scene outside. The winter snow covered scene adds to the feel of the inside. With the nice white contrast against the dark inside.

If you insist on perfect symmetry. If Lonnit doesn't mind. I can post two images of this photo with very simple mods. I'll remove them ASAP upon command.

The lighting in this photo is beautiful. I can't say that I see this as an era shot. It reminds me of a hospital lobby or something - not sure. Also, I do not see a warmth to this photo on the inside - rather a cold sterile inside and more of the warmth outside (like looking out to the real world). Makes me want to be outside vs. inside. So, with that said, yes! I like it very much :) jano

If I may disagree with you my good friend Abs. This is anything but a snap shot.

The perspective is encompassing. The angle, while accidental, looks unique. The choice of B&W is outstanding. The cold outside contrasts well with the warmth inside.

The photo was taken less than a year ago, yet it looks as if it's been taken in the 70's.

Don't know about others, but I will be very proud if this is my photo.

i am not so sure about the shot. it feels more of a snap-shot than a photograph (any interior decorator/architect would have used the same compo...not lighting though) to me, especially considering your standards. although, i simply love your sofas. what a great contemporary decor. thinking of it, i like the similarity in outdoors and indoor colors in the shot. if that was your intent, then its not a snap-shot after all. -Abstract

Do you know what. Not being centered makes it unique. This looks like a setting from the 70's.

Thanks. You're right though. It was a quickie shot. I was headed out the door and stopped just shy of it b/c I got the idea to shoot. I should have taken the extra step or two to be centered. ~ Lonnit

Lonnit is getting dangerous. This is beautiful!

Wish you moved a tiny bit to the right (for symmetry) or a lot to the left for a Lonnit look.
