Change in seasons

Returned from Winnipeg, Manitoba where we attended a seminar
the past 8 days. Did a lot of shooting, backing up the flash
memory cards to a portable CD writer device ('Roadstor'). Returnd to a disaster
when I discovered that the CD containing the first 3 days shooting was
unreadable. After hours and hours of 'crying and trying', managed to recover
maybe 1/3 of them with a terrific little program called 'CD Roller'. Excellent
pre-purchase service (plug here - but they really were great and at least I recovered
a few)

Striking photo, Cliff. Love the POV and the way the leaves are all pretty much the same color. Looks like the air is cold, as well.

A dramatic change. I really like that all the leaves are yellow. Not a green one left. Beautiful composition. What a drag about the CD. At least, you recovered some of them.

The camera was fine and so was the memory card. Either there was apower glitch during the write to CD from Card process or a defective CD to begin with. I don't think the Roadstor unit failed itself. Live and learn - I shall henceforth make 2 back up CDs.

Bright, pretty shot. Love the contrast between the yellow leaves and the blue sky. I hope you can recover 100% of your shots. Bummer when technology fails...

Cliff, sorry to hear that. You might wish to check dpreview. Nikon issued a service advisory on a couple of cameras, including the D70 for locking up.

I feel your pain Cliff, I'm in the market for some kind of reliable CD or preferably DVD writer. Did the manufacturer give you any support at all??
This is lovely, and hope you can recover all the others.

Welcome back from Manitoba. Sorry to hear about your storage woes.

That's a nice cheerfdul autmn shot. It looks like the rain has set in here in Vancouver, so I don't think I'll be seeing anything like this for a while :0).

Lovely composition!

That is tough about your storage issues. I always carry 2 4 gigabyte CF cards.
Maybe the Nikon doesn't use CF? Perhaps Punch tape? LOL
Well done image here reminding us all of autumn.

It's sure is fall now. Nice to see something blue today.
