This was shot at Plemont in Jersey (2005)

All right guys, this is me.

I am Dutch by origin but never really lived in the Netherlands other than for my studies
and during holidays while visiting family and friends. I have traveled the world with
my parents and brother and contrary to beliefs, I settled in the South West of France by
buying a property there. My previous inability to settle meant that within five years
I moved on... and on... and on again. Finding my roots in France is something that has
baffled not just my family members, my friends but especially myself.

Plans to set up an art gallery, cafe, and guest accommodation with photographic courses were delayed until now when we set up Koffie Cafe Culturel in Ste Foy La Grande and converted our remarkably big property with 8 guest rooms into a BnB.

In July 2005 I started my career as a professional photographer but it was not enough to pay the bills. Working full-time at Koffie placed my passion for photography on ice. When Koffie closed in 2013, I moved to Prague in the Czech Republic where I am currently resident. I have actually rekindled my passion for the photographic medium and have since become a familiar name in the local photographic community.

The joy of combining passion with work is a dream that is being realized.

Updates can be found on my
website: www.kterberg.com

Photography is a passion that I pursue with the sole purpose
of pleasing myself. If I can achieve that and at the same time
please others, I have more than succeeded in my goal.

You will also find my work on Posters.com, Amianti Art, Framing and Arts,
The Art Store, Art de Vivre, and in various galleries depending on where I exhibit.

The snaps posted here are scenes that I saw, enjoyed,
and now enjoy sharing with people who share a similar interest.

Some of the world's greatest artists have established themselves
on this site and they will never cease to inspire me. Some of them
can be found in my "Favorite Artists" but there are so many more
whom I just need to discover. I guess that that is my main reason
for having joined this social and artistic community and I love it.

Ps. This picture is one of the few self-pics that I have.
and, no, I did not take it myself. It was taken of me
by Vanessa's daughter using a brand new Canon D60 while I am
carrying my trusty EOS 3.

The equipment I use: ..........................a camera*

* One of those ingenious things that allow light to be captured on
a sensitive medium. What you see is what you freeze in time and those are
moments that you can share. It really does not matter what "brand"
of equipment you use. Some of my pics were taken on a Swedish MF,
others on a Russian toy camera. All camera does pretty much the same
thing; to capture a vision and allow you to share that with others.

Thanks for reading about me but please check out my snapshots instead.
I am a visual person and my story, my personality, and my passion should
be reasonably well-defined in the various galleries posted here. ENJOY!

Kees

After having shot with just about every type of film camera and digital as well, trying to find the best, I have to agree with you, it really doesn't matter. Either you capture the decisive moment or you don't.

Hi, Kees.
Thanx for sharing your photos. They are great. It was also nice to read about you. I really enjoy when people share about themselves, letting us see more then what picture tells.

Hi Kees, nice to meet you and lucky me to wander into your beaut galleries. It has been a revelation of exceptional appealing images. Also I appreciate your unassuming approach to your work with the camera, it's not only the head but also the heart that's doing the snaps.

Hehehe, actually keeping an eye on the cheeky little girl with the camera as she was ratteling off her 4th roll of film. ;¬)

Good to see you Kees :)
This is a great picture of yourself as it tells also about your passion of photography of people. I wonder whether you were looking into the lens that took the picture or at the beautiful girl in front and already preparing for thaking a picture of her... Best, Sharif

Hehehe, I should. I tend to carry only one nice big bag with the EOS 3, the Ixus, 1D, 70-200mm & 50mm lens, a couple of memory cards and a set of spare batteries.... and 10 rolls of film (5x slide and 5x b/w). I could do with a truck for just that one bag. The rest is displayed at home and used on less frequent occasions. The Blad has its own bag with light meter, filters and film. ;¬)

Hi Kees, you have not changed a bit. I always knew that you are the best. I love the photo's that you took at our wedding and I could not have wished for a better photographer. It is weird to know that we just celebrated our 10th anniversary and that Jack is now 8. Time flies.

Lots of love, Aida

Your photography lays waste to your claim of being just a happy snapper. You are more, a great deal more. Your work is stunning and Vanessa is marvelous. Well done on all counts Kees.
Guest 08-Mar-2006 08:17
Hi Kees! I'm impressed by the equipment you use. One thing I wonder though: why do you use the 50 1.8 more than the 1.4?
Guest 22-Feb-2006 16:05
