Garden chair pinhole
by Willem

This image was made with a digital pinhole camera.

How ?

Take the body cover of a DSLR (the plastic thing you use when there is no lens attached to the camera), create a big hole in it, cover it with aluminium foil and make a tiny hole in the foil.

Then attach the cover to the DSLR body instead of the lens and your pinhole camera is ready to go.

Results are very soft as you can see, with a huge depth of field.

Unfortunately you can't get a wide angle in this way, it is about the same view as a 70 mm lens.

other sizes: small medium original auto

What an interesting technique...and a neat photo, Willem. Nice in B&W too. MFC

The shutter speed was 2 seconds in bright sunlight. The aperture was ...... well the size created by the needle in the aluminium foil. Look for an example of such a lens here :http://rraz.ca/pin/pinhole.html

That's an interesting way to use a DSLR! The image is soft, but there's still detail that can be seen in the wood grain. What shutter speed did you use?

Willem, I learn aomething new every day in these challenges. I really like the angle at which this shot was taken. It makes a neat abstract.---Deb
