Chris poses with a statue of Robert Service in Sitka. Service is famous for his poems about the Klondike and the gold rush, most notably "The Cremation of Sam McGee" ("There are strange things done in the midnight sun by the men who moil for gold...") and "The Shooting of Dan McGrew" ("A bunch of the boys were whooping it up in the Malamute saloon..."). He is one of both mine and Chris' favorite poets.
