Today was for riding in Rockies. John and Marcee pulled a trailer with the Harley so they could move around more freely. After getting off work I met them at their camp site and we headed for the mountains. We stopped in Estes Park for salt water taffy and carmel popcorn, essentials for any healthy diet. It rained and hailed hard while we ate the caramel popcorn. We then rode down Hwy 36 to Lyons and back to Estes Park on Hwy 7. This is a nice ride through some small canyons and is very nice to ride when the falls colors are coming out. We never really did get rained on, just had a nice enjoyable ride.
We stopped at a scenic point, that really wasn’t that scenic, but you can see Mount Meeker in the background of this image. Directly behind Mount Meeker is Longs Peak and Trail Ridge road. You can also notice the wet pavement from the rain. One of the best smells I know is the mountains after a fresh rain. Marcee had a boot that was hurting so this is a shot of her and John checking it out: http://www.pbase.com/mstevens/image/48111082
