Without the concrete base, the shot would have no foundation...so to speak. ;-)

I like the vertical stripes juxtaposed with the radial spokes, but I'd prefer if it were cropped to remove the concrete base. The texture of the concrete is at odds with the wooden stripes and spokes IMO.

Gordon, great rustic feel with weathered elements and the contrasting repetitions summed up perfectly with your title. Composition is spot on as well, as always.

Very well selected scene. I like very much the dualism in colors and shapes. MCsaba

Where did you ever shoot this? It's smashing. Certinly has a lot of repetition, stripes...colors...line... The asymetrical balance gives it a nice edge.

This is my favorite of your three entries. I have a soft spot for old and rustic. Was this a barn? - must be quite a site. The peeling, fading paint, and the rather 'sloppy' paint job enhance the feeling that this is first a utilitarian structure.
Was going to suggest that the wheel be moved right just a touch, but the hub is dead on the diagonal and to move it would bring it too far down (I think).
Nice shot.
