Cute shot - it looks like the gull is wearing a pretty white dress!

Very unusual perspective for a seagull shot -- very effective! Helen

P.S. How I got this was... this seagull was sitting on a railing of a deck we were standing on. When he took off I took this photo.

Thanks everybody. Carmen we saw a documentary on how they did Winged Migration. Keep a lookout for it as it is really great and fascinating. They actually flew small planes with the birds. They raised the birds from young and got them accustomized to the planes and bonded to them so they considered them to be part of the flock. They show this in the documentary. Amazing! Ann

Love the perspective; reminds me of the piggy-back feel of the movie 'Winged Migration' -- still haven't figured out how they did that.

Everyday subject captured so elegantly. The lighting, perspective and composition make this shot. Wonderfully simple yet powerful.

The light on the tail feathers is amazing, Ann. What an unusual perspective. I love those little feet hanging down and the span of the wings. Definitely an accomplished flyer. Bev

Very nice perspective here, Ann...I feel just like that gull heading toward the boat. I also like how the tail is so bright & clear, contrasting so well with the darker wings and the background...it really grabs my attention. Well timed and taken. MFC

Yes, I like the way that eye naturally follows te birds expected trajectory in the image.
