5th Place "Sun through Delicate Arch" by Warren Sarle

Arches National Park, Utah, USA

The most beautiful places I've ever seen are in the southwestern deserts of the US.
My happiest memories are hiking and photographing in the national parks there.

Nikon F , 35mm PC Nikkor

other sizes: small medium original auto

I've seen many shots of this location, with the sun flare, in camera books and magazines - but this is the nicest because of the tight crop, closeup feel and the foreground texture. You've managed to put an original slant on a visual cliche. Beautiful.
Flick..

Thanks. The flare is exactly as shot on film. That old PC Nikkor makes nice sun stars because the diaphragm has so many blades. - Warren

Ahh, beautiful Warren. Is that flare PS or captured as is? Not too often we see these from you. Regards Paul
