July 23: Insert in Camera Before Using

Colorado Springs, CO

Last night I drove up to Parker, CO with my sister and her husband to attend a wedding rehearsal dinner for a young cousin. The party of 100 plus teemed with relatives, children, and lively action.

It turns out I had forgotten to insert my CF card before departing! :-(

Oh that sucks! I kept worring i would leave my CF in the card reader... infact it is sitting there now... but I bought a 2nd 1gb one as backup that I keep in my bag.. as long as i don't forget both...

There will be times when you will be in the field without a camera (or in your case without a CF card). And, you will see the most glorious sunset or the most beautiful scene that you have ever witnessed. Don't be bitter because you can't record it. Sit down, drink it in. and enjoy it for what it is! –DeGriff

Hey Buddy, don't worry about it. There is a silver lining in every cloud. Even the loss of memory has a bright side. Just think, you can go see the same movie over and over and it will be new each time ! Seriously, I hate it when I do this and I've done it more than once.
Cheers
Danny

I live in fear of this and so have gotten to where I never remove mine from the camera. Sorry it happened to you.

Don't you just hate that?!!! LOL at Bandito. I hear Ginko Biloba is good for aiding the memory...hee hee ;-)

Interesting pic and composition, however you might have boosted the saturation and added some contrast and lightness. tee hee

Um.. you can set the 20D to report no card....

I was on the way to shoot dogs for a kennel web site. I was halfway there and pulled over to check for that very thing. Thank heavens I did have the card, but this is one of my greatest fears. And, yes, mine is frequently in the card reader.--Rene

Can't believe Herb is laughing at you. Don't you just hate when you can't get photos at special occasions--it always happens.

Yeah, saw this happened to Gail yesterday.
Gail Davison23-Jul-2005 18:32
I had the same thing happen to me yesterday...no CF card.

Dang! Those moments hurt deep down inside. I'm glad the Mark II has two slots or I would have done the same thing a number of times :)

What????? Now that's a mistake that I would have NEVER expected you to EVER make. Total bummer. None of us really expected the symptoms of Alzheimer's to kick in this early, Robin.

Oh no! Poor you!
