July 23: Do you think this was a good idea?

Parker, CO

Suzanne and Christopher Turner caught in a little interchange during their wedding service.

This is just a teaser for tonight. I'll post a couple more later on Sunday.

I will tell you I learned several things:
1) The on board flash for the 20D was inadequate for the level of lighting both at the Church and the Reception.

2) My 70-300mm was nice for a few shots at the wedding, but was too much length several times.

3) I switched to the 17-40 mm for the reception and it served me better, and of course the flash was still inadequate.

It will take quite a bit of post-processing to save several of the shots that I like.

Canon EOS 20D ,Canon EF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 DO IS USM
1/60s f/5.0 at 130.0mm iso800 with Flash full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Never fear, PhotoSHop is great for fixing underexposed shots.
It's saved some shots I thought would never turn out.
I've fixed some for friends who were amazed by the results.
Levels and Curves in layers are your friend!

I ran into this problem shooting photos at my sister-in-laws rehearsal brunch and reception... also found the barrel on my 24-70 is too long for the on board flash and leaves a shadow so I too am looking into a speedlite...

Great catch! It must have been an interesting conversation :)

That is an interesting set of expressions! But I'll bet that 2 minutes later, all was well. Glad you learned something from a "practice" round - now you'll know better how to do one of these in the future.

They both look incredibly nervous...and rightly so. Although this is a great capture, it wouldn't be the one I framed and gave to them. ;-)

Where's your external flash?
Great capture. Did he do or say something wrong?

What a great moment you have captured here!!
I´m sorry with you because I have a very little time so I couldn´t spend so much time at the internet, so that, sometimes I can be on many galleries, But I´ll be trying to do it day by day, As soon as I can!!
