Dennis,
I don't know if it's an authentic Italian dessert, But in the NY area it's fairly common in Italian resturants. It's called a Tartufo. It's a ball of vanilla and chocolate ice cream about the size of a baseball with some chopped nuts and a cherry at the center and the whole thing has a hard chocolate shell. Normally it's eaten with a spoon ;-)
The white mushroom looking bit would be the vanilla ice cream. I have about 5 1/2 years worth of picture of my daughter looking like this . LOL.
Great idea, but, except for the brown stains on her fingers, I wasn't sure what she was eating. There's something that looks like a slice of white mushroom near her right index finger that made me think she was eating savoury rather than sweet. Great expression on the face though, and I love the messiness of the fingers.

Alain,
Thanks. Yes the focus is off. Blame the A1's lack of ability to focus in low light. I figured someone was bound to post a picture of a kid covered in chocolate...I just got here first. LOL! Depending on what else I capture before the end of competition, this may end up over in the exhibition gallery.
Jummy ... I guess ;-)
I have no idea what a Kiss Of Life is (to me it looks like a Kiss Of Death ;-).
A great kids-shot, a pity the focus is a little off (it is more on the hair in the background, than on the eyes, which are the mean attraction element in the pic). Your compo is impeccable as always, Marc.
