Rod, i understand you are just trying to keep the sunset tradition alive and not trying to give me hard time :-P...but (i should add, "unfortunately" here) in the past i have moved a couple of photos to pending (after 24 hours) for the reason of them being off-topic. so just to be fair to all the participants...i would appreciate if you could please re-shoot this beautiful subject showing disproportion that fits the theme or replace it with some on-topic photograph. i appreciate your co-operation. thanks. -Abstract

Thanks Rich, yes a silhouette indeed. I got what looks to be a ghosting around the tree branches but the light was blinding. The blurry hills were just what I was after ......................Well........ It was when I brought the shot up on the computer & I couldn't sharpen them:-)heha

Mary Anne, did you notice the ISO 800:-) I had it set for something else & changed lenses to get this shot, the sun was disappearing fast & I didn't check the settings.. hehe
Now Abs wot do you mean off topic? Most sunset shots entered in the challenges are off topic, I couldn't break with tradition....................could I:-)
uhh ohhh...
you are just trying to give me hard time, dont you Rod?
there is only one subject in the shot which doesnt have any disproportion within itself and if you consider sun as another subject then every photograph involving sun/moon (no matter how proportional other things in the photograph are) would be on-topic. i agree that this couldbe just a 1" bush and it looks like a tree...but still it would be only a close-up. nothing disproportional about this shot...so i have to call it off-topic.

Good shot Rod, I'd call it a silhouette. Its too bad the horizon line is blury, or maybe thats what you wanted. Rich
