Oh, he's so adorable, and looks so little amongst all those rocks. I can't possibly imagine this little angel throwing rocks at anyone!

Just a little sarcasm. No offense was taken, or meant from me. I actually did think about a reference object for the shot, but then I thought that it would look be out of place and take away from the composition I was trying to achieve.

waw, wait.... now I see you didn't put a *, hope my comment didn't bother you... it's not the rule what matters, it's the interpretation, MY interpretation...IMHO, some reference would be nice, but that's just me, ok?

He is sitting amongst them, how big could they be? Anyway, it's a riverbank and the sizes vary from sand to football sized. If you're going to question the depth, maybe a rule should be put into place that all shots must incorporate a measuring device to verify authenticity.

It's a nice catch... my problem is that I can't imagine the real size of the stones... are they as big as the head of the kid, smaller, bigger... on the end, the shot is good and the kid is beautiful...

Ive got one just like that. Could sit in a field all day and play dirt dirt and rocks. Lovely crisp shot.

Appreciate the comments folks. My son's name is James and his favourite thing to do is throw rocks, my favourite thing to do while he is throwing rocks is take pictures if him.
The title starts out as the popular saying, but drifts off into a description of the view I had.

Abstract, the title is a variation on the expression "Between a rock and a hard place," meaning that one is forced to choose between two almost impossible alternatives. Maybe it's an Americanism?

Geez you take some terrific shots of your kid Darrel, the colour & exposure just looks so good . What's the little lads name?

I like this one, you really get a feeling that the rocks in front are huge boulders especially the one on the left.
