I'm not jealous at all Paul, I could get a shot better than this if I had a Dutch tin & knew which bleeding buttons to press on me new camera...............plus I would need a longer arm, as I've got the 200mm on the RIG at the moment.

Rod, you goose, the daisies are perfect because it adds to the illusion and as this topic is of an illusory nature then it's spot on. You're just jealous

Rod; whilst i could have matched the colour and flora to the landscape in ps, i chose not to do this for health reasons. I realise that are several older participants who might suffer severe shock at the reality that this shot could present.

How can it be a perfect shot Paul if there's bleeding daisies on the can? & don't get me started on the cow:-)
Paul 17-May-2005 02:27
That's superb but most odd. It's obvious what it is but the brain keeps on wanting to look through the tin as if it's made of glass and the proportions seem right then all of a sudden you notice the odd proportions and everything is wrong. Perfect shot.
I've got my long service next year, i think i shall go to France and live with the sister in law and take shots like this all day:>)

Wish I could do something like this in 20 sec!!! You milk that cow for all that it's worth Andy!!! Really imaginative shot and the landscape is beautiful. jano

20 secs? no kidding... you live in a wonderful landscape, I must say...
ctfchallenge16-May-2005 21:20
Pedro; it took me 20secs to walk from the front door to here and a further 8 to find the right spot. You are right abut the coluours not matching but i thought it added to the tension of the moment.
"Is that a real giant cow in the distance? Phew ...no.. its an opitcal illusion. I knew that because the colours didnt match."

That sort of thing.

Thanks for the comments and i will be casting judgement upon some if not all entries shortly.

This is so cool, Andy! How long did you stroll around the country to find the perfect match between nature and your can? It's really amazing... to be purist and for the sake of *, I would use a polarizer or underexpose or use flash to make the color of the sky more even with the color of the sky on the can... but anyway, an excellent idea, composition and right on topic.

I knew all along it was the graphic on the tin that was disproportionate & not meant to be the tin itself. ......................cough cough:-)

This is great andy. Clever idea.

amazing take on the subject. comparative approach with disproportional feeling...cooooool.
i wonder how many things do you have that have "cow" printed on it? :) we know two now...your dining table mat and this box. -Abstract

Wow, I'ts unbelivable how well the landscape lines meet those in the can! \Oved

That's a great idea Andy the horizons of the landscape & the tin graphic mating up really well. If you could have Photo shopped the yellow daisies out & replaced with grass similar to the adjacent field it would have really teased the brain upon viewing. But as you were so slack I have to mention that by your hand being visible the tin doesn't really look disproportionate to the rest of the shot...............sort of:-)
