36th

36th Infantry Division:
The Texas Division also The Lone Star Division.

When the U.S. entered WW II, the 36th Division was
allocated to the Texas National Guard and was in
training at Camp Camp Bowie, Texas. After being Federalized
on November 25th, 1940. The Division had two changes of
station before embarking for the North Africa Theater in
April of 1943, but arrived in Africa too late to get into
the fighting so received no credit for this campai

The design of the shoulder patch worn by the 36th Division
was approved by the AEF on November 12th, 1918. The letter "T"
for "Texas" appears on a flint arrowhead which suggests the
Indian Territory as the former name for Oklahoma

Worn from:
25 November 1940 - 9 September 1943.
