living hell

This is one of my treasured possesions. I have a full box set of these road atlases covering the whole of Italy. Why I like them so much I don't know because they actually symbolise a living hell for me.... map reading. I just can't do it. We once took thunder thighs to Italy and were driving through a hill top village that only had three or four roads leading from the centre - there were three old men sitting in the square and they were quite interested to watch these strangers driving through. Well, they certainly got used to us after I directed us down each of the roads in turn and back again before finally taking us into a muddy field. Now you know why I don't like the countryside - no proper road signs :-)

But Gail...look at what you would have missed if not for poor signage :>) Sure photograph well, don't they.

I think you should put your maps on a shelf and
buy a GPS Navigator :) Cool Shot.

My husband will say that my map reading skills are pretty good - honest. However, I'll never live down the time I directed us and following friends, both vehicles towing caravans down a cycle path in Holland. You can imagine the problems we had when we had to turn round!

Beautiful angle Gail. And nice colours.

I think there is only one rule here, never argue with the person with the Map. Maps are great, it tends to get a bit hard when you have to drive, read a map and find yourself in a way way system not shown on the map though :)

I adore maps and have several for areas I have never been too!
By the way, was this the sign at that Italian village? <http://www.pbase.com/clickaway/image/28047238

I hate maps too,Gail. Gives me a headache...and I can't read them!!! Everything is so darn small...but they are beautiful with their different colors, lines, patterns. Nice image!

I love maps.

Don't fret. I once thought it would be easy to ride a bike from Turino to Roma because, when I looked at a map, it looked so CLOSE! Thankfully, someone talked me out of it. phew!

That's what's great about the countryside.

hahaha... well, maps are only as good as the road signs present that tell you where you are. it has nothing to do with your map-reading abilities, blame it on the country-side. :) i love maps, i'd be lost without them. ^_~

thunder thighs? :)

It's not as bad as men who don't seem to like to ask for directions?
