The land of duct tape

Kotzebue, Alaska

Alaska couldn't survive without duct tape. It holds airplane wings together, fixes frozen pipes when they burst, and as in this man, it prevents frostbite. Lorenz Schuerch just finished a snow machine race. He is taped up because without the protection the combination of high speed and sub-zero temperature would freeze his skin.
