Carvings

The first level of the Angkor Wat is the most artistically interesting. Most visitors begin their exploration of the temple with the bas-reliefs that cover the exterior wall of the first level, following the reliefs counterclockwise around the temple. Bas-relief highlights include the mythological Battle of Kuru on the west wall; the historical march Suryavarman IIˇ¦s army, builder of Angkor Wat, army against the Cham, followed by scenes from Heaven and Hell on the south wall; and the classic ˇĄChurning of the Ocean Milkˇ¦ on the north wall.

Hi Ray, I would like to know how long it took you to come out with these pictures. What sunlight did you use? Sunset? Moonlight? Sunrise? What about the pictures of the bas reliefs? We will be going there, and I hope that will be enough time for us to take all the interesting shots. We will be there for three days.
