Ironically I just used that lens on a flower this morning. Nice work. I think it went well. I'm happy with mine... used a tripod today however. http://www.pbase.com/rtwo/image/41220742

Now you can dream of adding a closeup lens or a teleconverter and really get up close and personal with your subjects. I think that's going to make a very versatile lens for you.
