About all I can say here is I wish I had taken this photo. A portrait that any great photographer would be proud of.

this is a good black and white...you captured the eyes so well and those eyes are the key to drawing the viewer in...arrangement of book and piano are good, but really the eyes are what hold my attention

nice photo, great tonality control on the blacks and soft contrast ,i would prefer the square format on this one ,nice light also.regards Yiannis.

Again, great expression and I like the arrangement with book and piano. Something is bothering me about his left hand though but I'm not sure what or how to fix it.

Hi, Marie,
the book is actually clavier of Boris Godunov opera written by Modest Mussorgsky.
Glad you stopped by,
G.

... Another Attempt is the title of the book? :)))
Excellent tonal range.
The light might be a bit bright on the left hand
but it's definitely NOT overexposed.
I love the old book textures, the lines in the background
and most of all the silky reflection on the piano.
A wee white spot in the lower left corner begs for cloning out... :)))
A very commendable portrait, I particularly like the smile in the eyes.
Brava Galina!
:) Marie

PS: what book is this (author & title please!)
