Today was a fun day despite the weather playing tricks on us.
It was somewhat troubling being up on a climb when the heavens decided to open up its water reserve on us. Luckily we found steep climbs on which we would be protected from the rain. It seamed to have worked for Edison who succeeded on two 5.12a routes (5.12a = hard).
The rain was troublesome at worst but never fun to have when you are hanging from sandstone!
Anyway, this photo was shot while driving around the loop road at Red Rocks on the way to the exit. I know it is a cliché when people say to “look for the silver lining in clouds.” But, there is a reason why they are clichés. They get repeated over and over because there is a certain truth to them. We got a very cliché demonstration of that. As we drove through an area of rain, we were treated to this view that could not be created without the rain. The rainbow appeared suddenly and "landed" at the formation where we were climbing earlier in the day. It may have been a cliché but this cliché was beautiful and full of meaning.
