There is less than a week until my next climbing trip.
After over a decade of using the same gear, I treated myself to a few new spring-loaded camming devices. These "cams" are wedged into cracks in the rock to keep you off the ground if you fall during a climb. Of course, there are more important things than gear. Without a good climbing partner, it doesn't matter how good your cams are.
I'm lucky enough to say that I have both.
