The 1850 Census of Jackson County, Alabama, shows a Hiram Lankston with wife and eight children. One of the children is a William at age 16. Also there is a family shown in having a son William born in W C River, Bibb, Alabama estimated birth date about 1839. This is being researched for verification. Should this check out Hiram Lankston would be my GGG Grandfather.

My GG Grandfather, William Henderson Lankston (Langston) was born about 1836 in Alabama. We now that he married Elizabeth Neal in Cherokee county, Texas in 1875. Know of only two children to this marriage, but there could have been more. The two children were boys, William Martin born 1865 and Robert Lee born in 1866, both born in Cherokee county, Texas.

My G Grandfather, Robert Lee Langston was born in Cherokee County, Texas on March 24, 1866 and died on January 26, 1924 in Austin, Texas. He married Sara (Sallie) Rebecca McGahey on December 9, 1888 in Bell County, Texas. She was born April 7, 1869 in Alabama and died January 17, 1955 in Belton, Bell County, Texas. They are buried in the Salado Cemetery, Salado, Bell County, Texas. They had eight children:

My Grandfather, William Doyle Langston was born in Jacksonville, Cherokee County, Texas on March 8, 1895 and died March 26, 1962 in Belton, bell County, Texas. He married Gillie Lavonia Syme, place and date unknown at this time. She was born in Dime Box, Lee County, Texas on August 1, 1896 and died on September 27, 1968 in Belton, Bell County, Texas. They are buried in the Salado Cemetery, Salado, Bell County, Texas. They had eight children:

My father, William Langston was born in Prairie Dell, Bell County, Texas on August 2, 1915 and died on December 3, 1985 in Killeen, Bell County, Texas. He married Dorothy Dell Groves on November 12, 1942. She was born in Belton, Bell County, Texas on June 14, 1920. They had two children:

I, William Ellett Langston grew up in Central Texas. My hometown was Belton, Bell County, Texas. I graduated from Belton High School in 1964 exactly 25 years from the same school that my mother graduated from in 1938. I served four years in the United States Air Force in the Air Police from February 1965 to October1968. I spent eighteen months in Taiwan and the remaining time in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Since then I have lived in Texas, Wisconsin, Upper Peninsula Michigan, and now in Minnesota. I am married with a daughter and no one to carry on the Langston name.
