Hammons Tower and Hammons Field, both pictured here, were built by resident millionaire and philanthropist John Q. Hammons. A graduate of SMSU in Springfield, MO, Hammons now owns a healthy portion of the city. His tower is the largest building in Springfield, located near the center of the city, at one of the highest points topographically. It stands about 20 stories high, which is about 10 stories higher than any other building in Springfield. The tower and the baseball stadium are located within 2 blocks of one another.
