February 17: Have Memory – Will Travel

Ranhco Bernardo, CA

The complete photographer, when traveling, needs plenty of memory and good light. Throw in a couple of good lenses, a carrying bag, and a battery charger – then one is ready.

Canon EOS 20D ,Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6
1/60s f/7.1 at 49.0mm iso400 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Just bought a couple of these myself. Comes out to about 160 RAWs on my 10D. That's about as much as I will shoot in day or two.

Nice! I've just got one 1G. You can just shoot and shoot and shoot - now need another battery!!!

Can you please send some to my father-in-law, he has lost most of his. He needs a deep memory recovery program.

LOL to JF - my first computer was an Altair using an Intel 8080 micro, and had 4K of RAM. Hard drives were unheard of. It had an audio interface to drive a portable cassette tape player as a permanent media device. But even I wasn't in the beginning - my dad has a 200 BIT vacuum tube from an ENIAC. Now that's old.

The complete photographer also takes his friends along on the trip. At least, I wish he did! Looks like you're ready for anything, Robin. Have a great voyage!!!

I see you're getting well prepared for your trip.

Nice composition, I'm still amazed that my first hard drive on my computer was only 80MB...and I'm not even old...If we follow the same time logic, in 15 years, the size of a memory card will be close to 1,000GB..for probably a 120 megapixel sensor....
Guest 18-Feb-2005 01:53
Good thing you haven't lost any of them - losing your memory is a real challenge these days.
Guest 18-Feb-2005 01:50
I need more.
Send please....
