Done for the day (v1) *

This was the result of a photographic experiment: I found the ugliest subject I could and then waited for sunset to see what happened when it was photographed.
In my opinion even dump truck tires look good (well, at least interesting) during the golden hours...
This is version 1. Versions 2 and 3 can be found in the thread located at http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1010&message=12202282

Canon EOS 10D ,Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8 EX ASP DF
1/125s f/6.7 at 28.0mm iso100 full exif

other sizes: small original auto

I like this one the best.
Really nice shot - good composition and DOF. Captures the light well.

For anyone interested in the two different photographs being referred to below see:http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1010&message=12202282

Abstract, I have been really struggling with which photograph I like best. I do like version 2 (my first entry) for its abstract qualities and narrow DOF, however as Techo pointed out the emphasis may be too much on the dirt/mud. In version 1, the focus seems more on the golden rim (a color with popular emphasis in this challenge) and it’s seems clearer what it is I am photographing. I really appreciate your (and everyone else’s) straight forward critiques and comments. I am going to have to think this one over a bit as they are far too similar to simply submit both. Thanks again, Brian

GREAT shot!

Brian, I liked the shallow DOF version better than this one. IMHO that had more abstractness in it (which was the character) and increased dof doesnt add anything to the shot (neither information nor interest). -Abstract
