Juvenile Cooper's Hawk

Usually when these hawks come to my yard they drop in and are usually gone within 30 seconds. This guy hung around for about half an hour. I slowly crawled towards him the entire time taking pic's and got within about 25 feet from him but still couldn't get a clean shot at him.

Great capture, Jim ... v ... one has taken up residence (two days running) in my backyard and sits on a perch for hours at a time. I can get within about 15 yards of him/her before he/she takes off. Yesterday he/she nailed a rabbit in the backyard and took off with it. http://www.pbase.com/tombriggs/image/121431143 ... almost a twin of your photo.

Well, there's nothing wrong with this!! I just posted some sharp shin hawk pics in my gallery. AND I didn't have to do any crawling!! LOL! Great shot.
