11-11-04 fountain

One of the advantages to getting the bus in the morning or walking, rather than catching a lift
with Catherine, is that I get to walk through the park to work. There are obvious disadvantages too,
some dubious personal hygine, and frankly some of the folk that get on the bus before me are barking.

Tough choice today, I went for this in the end, as the treatment I had in mind was exactly how this
finished. I saw some photo's in a magazine which had a really dark grimy finish to them, although
they were shot on film I thought I'd be able to get close to the finished product in Photoshop.
Job done!

As you can see though I got a couple of a great sunset this evening from the bridge. When I was
there I got chatting to a guy also taking photo's, but with a Nikon D70. After seeing his photo's
on the LCD alone I'm convinced that DSLR is the way forward. I've also managed to convince
Catherine too - I can see one of those bad boy's in my future! The only caveat is that I can get
one, once the flat's sold and we've bought somewhere new. Fingers crossed.

I think one of the biggest advantage using a small pocket camera like yours is you can take photos everywhere and unnoticed. That's why there are many interesting shot in your galleries because you do bring camera almost everywhere you go. With DSLR, everything will be different. It's bloody big and heavy. My suggestion is probably, buy the D70 but don't sell the Oly yet. It's a great pocket 'take everywhere' camera.

I've got a shot of this somewhere on the HD! Lovely colours on the other shots.

Well, you must ask for it for Christmas, and if you are good...maybe...

This is great. So sharp the foreground but the blur of the passerby in the b/g gives it the street feel.

Go for it, Dom.

It looks quite tortured but very differant to the normal type fountain. Like the reflection too, Dom.

Nicely captured, and edited, Dom. Great job - keep taking that bus, just wear gloves and wash your hands every day.

Love the texture and reflection in this image. The tones really highlight the texture, nice PS work. Oh, and that sunset (alternate) with those awesome clouds, gorgeous!!!
