Such a rich and beautifully composed picture, with its turquoise filligree in the middle, its diagonals, it's lines and bulging window guard, the background dreaming away under the sun, and the perfect "twin" shadow of the gate lying in the sand. The painted surfaces seem as though printed cloth has been adhered to them, and enliven a scene that would be rather austere if it weren't for the perfect wrought iron barricade.
