The fancy wrought iron-works that are used commonly in Tunisia is a legacy of French colonialism. The buildings in Tunisia, especially in the medinas are often very bare, hence fancy street lights like this one is a nice contrast. Here I've juxtaposd the curves of the street lamp with the bare walls, rigid rectangles and repetitions of blue doors. This street lamp seems to defy everything that is simple and orderly around it.
