The Unkown Visitor

Many women in Tunisia wear the sifsari, a white robe with which they cover themselves from head to toe. With their identities concealed, they appear like a mysterious, ghostly figure that floats in and out of the medinas.

A very nice image. Love your choice of framing and the subtle colors. really nice.

A spectacularly ghostly figure, haunted by her history, gender, and faith, steals silently towards us -- a wraith in white, walking to us out of the light and into confinement. Your vertical frame has slowed her down, imprisoning her by pressing her ever closer to that wall. You have given her no place to move here, producing a social comment on what often may be the role of women in this part of the world. Normally, I would have suggested you use a horizontal frame on a shot expressing movement, implying a continued sense of motion. But in this case, your confining vertical format works perfectly to inhibit mobility. Which is what this image is all about.
